{"id":1056,"date":"2013-11-04T17:26:06","date_gmt":"2013-11-04T11:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.innovationm.com\/blog\/?p=1056"},"modified":"2014-01-31T12:33:38","modified_gmt":"2014-01-31T07:03:38","slug":"mobile-web-development-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.innovationm.com\/blog\/mobile-web-development-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobile Web Development Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For lot of companies who wish to have a mobile presence, they are faced with a dilemma whether to go native or leverage mobile web as their mobile strategy.\u00a0 Nope \u2013 this article is not yet another comparison between the ubiquitous native vs mobile web (vs hybrid) discussions, but focuses on how best a mobile web development strategy and decision making is implemented.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">For those who decide to build mobile web solutions, they need to deal with a few <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">considerations<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\"> to build a mobile web presence, some of which are covered in the article:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Consideration 1: Application URL and HTML Generation<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b>When building a mobile web solution, a key consideration is the URL which serves the HTML content. The typical question that comes up is \u2013 do we need to keep a common URL for mobile web and desktop web, or shall we go for different URLs:<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b>There are three approaches to provision URLs and serve HTML content:<\/p>\n<p><em>Responsive Web Design (RWD)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sites that use responsive web design, i.e. sites that serve all devices on the same set of URLs, with each URL serving the same HTML to all devices and using just CSS to change how the page is rendered on the device.
