CommunicateHealth is a mission-driven health communication firm focused on improving health literacy through human-centered design. This organization creates clear, accessible, and inclusive medical information that helps people make informed health decisions. By prioritizing usability and understanding, they work on different aspects to reduce barriers and promote health equity across diverse communities.
The Massachusetts government was having a hard time taking care of people’s health in disaster-prone areas due to issues in communication between affected people and shelter home workers. That’s when they asked CommunicateHealth to provide a Multilingual Healthcare Communication Platform that can come in handy for Family Assistance Centres (FACs) during emergencies.
Since existing tools were only useful for basic communication, the client reached out to InnovationM to build a multilingual app for healthcare workers and the general population, named “Show Me for Emergencies,” that can fulfill the communication needs of diverse communities during critical times.
CommunicateHealth required an inclusive, multilingual healthcare communication app to support real-time interaction between shelter home workers and general citizens. In order to provide them with such a solution, we came across the following challenges:
InnovationM developed the “Show Me for Emergencies” app for CommunicateHealth, which is an extension of the broader Show Me emergency response tool. This public health multilingual app featured:
The digital healthcare communication system enabled secure, structured, two-way communication between families and FAC (Family Assistance Centre) staff, ensuring timely information exchange during emergencies. This reduced confusion, improved response coordination, and helped deliver accurate updates due to clear communication.
Designed with accessibility at its core, the healthcare communication provider incorporated readable typography, intuitive iconography, and simplified layouts. This ensured individuals with visual, hearing, or cognitive disabilities could easily access, understand, and act on critical public health information.
The healthcare communication facilitator supported real-time translation across multiple languages, allowing diverse communities to receive accurate and consistent information in their preferred language. This eliminated language barriers and ensured equal access to essential emergency communications.
InnovationM is India’s best healthcare IT solution provider that developed native applications for both iOS and Android operating systems for CommunicateHealth. The mobile-first design delivered an intuitive and engaging user experience across different devices. This accelerated user adoption and ensured reliable performance in a fast-moving, high-pressure public health ecosystem.
To maintain continuity during network disruptions, the developers at InnovationM designed the multilingual medical communication app with offline-ready capabilities. This ensured uninterrupted access to critical information, strengthened system reliability, and supported emergency preparedness in unpredictable real-world conditions.
The healthcare communication platform created by InnovationM delivered significant improvements in emergency responsiveness, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
